Reverend Sharinese Jackson was proudly born and raised in the city of Detroit,
Michigan. She matriculated in the Detroit Public School System (graduate from Cass
Technical High) and gra
duated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Psychology. She earned a M.A. in Counseling from Ashland Theological
Seminary, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Prevention Specialist.
Her family was one of the founding members of Oak Grove, where she attend
ed since
birth. The Nancy Marsh Missionary Society of Oak Grove was named af
ter her Great
Grandmother. Reverend Jackson was the former Pastor of Bethel AME in Flint, MI  St.
Luke AME in Roseville, MI, and Quinn Chapel AME in Flint, Mi. She also served as the
Women in Ministry Coordinator for the Michigan Conference.

Her life work has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the young
people that she meets. She has a passion for helping our youth and their families
which is evidenced in the work that she does. She was employed as a Family and
Student Coordinator at Starr Detroit Academy where she counseled families and
children. She is an author of a Children’s Book Series entitled “Choices, founder of
Your Choice 4 Youth and More Than Conquerors. She is also an advocate for the
Michigan Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

She has been trained as a Crisis Intervention Counselor and volunteered at
Common Ground. She also has facilitated groups at shelters for women and families
who have been affected by Domestic Violence, Drug Abuse and are Homeless. She
has also been the facilitator of a girl mentoring group called D.O.V.E.S. (Daughters
of Virtue Empowered Spiritually), and a Church School Teacher. She has always
been involved in youth programs such as Girl and Boy Scout Leader, PTA
President, Youth Camp Instructor and member of the Youth Ministry Council.

She is currently the proud Pastor of Vernon Chapel AME Church in Detroit,
Michigan. Her passion is helping young people and their families develop into the
gifted and blessed people God intended for them to be. Her love for God and young
people are the inspiration for all that she does. She is a wife (Bryan), mother of two
(Dwight and Sydney) and a grandmother of three (Kiah, Kiara and Mackal).  She is
also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She lives by the scripture Philippians
4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me;
and Romans 8:37
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
